The historic site of the grandiose Belvedere Hotel is home to the Owl Bar, a local landmark since 1903 and known at one time as Baltimore’s most notorious speakeasy. Just steps away is The Brewer’s Art, a brewpub with house-made ales located in an early 20th-century townhouse in Mount Vernon. The best seats here for sipping and socializing are in a quiet corner in the cavernous basement, or at a seat in the window overlooking Charles Street.

The Ivy Hotel, a former mansion-turned luxury hotel on East Biddle Street, is home to Magdalena, a Maryland Bistro that features locally-sourced Chesapeake cuisine infused with European tradition and a Wine Spectator award-winning wine list.
